There will be tears when I wear the India Jersey: Rinku Singh

Rinku Singh earned maiden India call-up in the T20I squad for the Asian Games 2023 which will be held in China.
Rinku Singh is one of the two new faces to earn the maiden India Call-up for the Asian Games. Led by Ruturaj Gaikwad, the Indian team will have several fresh faces.
Since India will be preparing for the home World Cup, the BCCI will be sending a second-string squad to the Asian Games. Rinku Singh, who was a consistent performer for Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2023, opened up about his selection. "I'm a strong guy but I'm sure there will be some tears when I wear the India jersey for the first time," he told RevSportz recently.
He also added that he will be dedicating his debut to his parents. “I know for the fact that my family, my parents will be happier than me to see me wear the Indian jersey. They have been waiting for this for years now. They have seen my struggle, they have helped me, been with me through all my ups and downs. The day I don the jersey will be a day dedicated to them,” he added.
The left-handed batter also added that he does not think a lot about the future and takes one day at a time. "I take life as one day at a time. But yes, whoever takes up professional sports wants to represent their country one day or the other,” Rinku told.
The chatter with Mahi bhai (MS Dhoni) was really productive: Rinku Singh
In the same interview, Rinku Singh also revealed the advice MS Dhoni gave to him. Rinku Singh met the former Indian captain after the match against Chennai Super Kings.
“The chatter with Mahi bhai (MS Dhoni) was really productive. He has also batted in similar numbers as I do – at 5 or 6 – and he has done it for the majority of his career, and knows the position in and out. I simply asked him how to better my game, and his advice was very simple: “Bohot sahi batting kar raha hai, jo tu kar raha hai, wahi karta reh (You are batting really well. Continue whatever you have done so far),” revealed Rinku.
The Asian Games will begin on September 23 and will end on October 8.
