There is more pressure for tickets than India vs Pakistan match: Babar Azam
Pakistan captain Babar Azam is hopeful of breaking India's winning streak in World Cup.
Witnessing an India vs Pakistan cricket game in the World Cup always remains a huge dream for every cricket fan, especially from the sub-continent. A bitter-sweet rivalry between the two neighbouring countries makes this clash the most business-friendly, eyeball-catching event in cricket. India and Pakistan both are currently preparing for the big money clash set to be played on Saturday at Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Pakistan captain Babar Azam held a press conference before the big clash in Ahmedabad and looked confident of his team’s performance against team India. Apart from the game, the Pakistani skipper shared lighter moments while talking to the press as well. The Pakistani skipper said that he is having extra pressure of arranging tickets rather than the game itself. Babar also said that his team is not feeling any kind of pressure before the game.
'Extra' Pressure on Babar Azam
Pakistan captain Babar Azam said, “There is more pressure for tickets than match. It is not a pressure match for us. We have played with each other a lot of times. We got a lot of support in Hyderabad and we hope the same for Ahmedabad. What matters is what we can do best as a team in both batting and bowling. In these conditions the margin of error for bowlers is minimal.” Pakistan had a wonderful campaign in the World Cup 2023 so far.
India vs Pakistan also adds a bit of pressure on both sides as the expectations go higher from the fans. Babar Azam believes that the experience will be crucial in tackling big-moment pressure. Babar added, “Experience helps you play better. When I was a youngster I used to get nervous but there are seniors who help you out.” Babar Azam also suggested that he will be planning according to the situation while being on the field against India.
Both these teams played two games in the Asia Cup 2023, where one got washed out after the first innings and in the second one team India got a huge win by 229 runs. India have a magnificent record against Pakistan as they have an unbeaten streak going on in the World Cup. The Pakistani skipper is hopeful of breaking the streak and getting their maiden win in ODI World Cup against India.
