Mongolia and Isle of Man hold the unwanted record of the joint-lowest total in T20I cricket.

The T20 format is the most popular of the three formats in the game. Fans love this because of its short-time nature and in it, unexpected things can happen. Be it scoring 300 runs in 20 overs or even getting all out for below 20 runs. This format comes with many surprises for the fans and even players.

This article is also related to a stat that could blow away your mind. In this, we will talk about the lowest totals in men’s T20I cricket. More than 100 countries play this format globally as ICC has awarded T20I status to all playing nations. So, let’s check out the top five lowest men’s T20I totals of all time.

5. Turkey – 21 all out vs Czech Republic, 2019

The fifth-lowest total in T20I cricket is held by Turkey. It came against the Czech Republic during the 2019 Continental Cup. It was the sixth game of the tournament at Ilfov County. Batting first, the Czech Republic scored 278/4.

But the second innings was a disaster for Turkey as they were bowled out for just 21 runs in 8.3 overs and lost the game by 257 runs, which is the second-biggest win margin in T20I.

4. Mongolia – 17 all out vs Hong Kong, 2024

Mongolia have had quite a few cheap scores in T20I cricket. In fact, three out of the top four are registered against their names. The fourth-lowest came during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier A against Hong Kong in August 2024.

Batting first, Mongolia managed only 17 runs in their innings, which included three extras. None of their batters reached double-digits. Hong Kong made 18/1 in 1.4 overs and won with 110 balls to spare.

3. Mongolia – 12 all out vs Japan, 2024

In a T20I between Mongolia and Japan at Sano in May 2024, Mongolia recorded another dismal innings. Japan batted first and posted a total of 217/7. Sabaorish Ravichandran was the top scorer with 69 off 39. Mongolia conceded 31 extras.

In reply, they couldn’t even score the amount of runs they gave in extras. The whole team were bowled out for just 12 runs, losing by a massive margin of 205 runs. Seven batters registered a duck as Japan’s pacer Kazuma Kato-Stafford took 5/7 in 3.2 overs.

2. Isle of Man – 10 All out vs Spain, 2023

The joint-lowest score in T20I cricket came in a match between Isle of Man and Spain in Cartagena in February 2023.

In the first innings, the Isle of Man side were bowled out for just 10 runs in 8.4 overs, with seven batters registering ducks. Spain made 13/0 in 0.2 overs and won with 118 balls to spare. This is the fastest-ever chase in T20I history.

Mongolia also have the joint-lowest total in T20I cricket. This is the most recent game, which was against Singapore during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier A in Bangi. It was the 14th game of the tournament.

Mongolia batted first and had a horrible collapse. They lost all ten wickets for just 10 runs in 10 overs with five ducks in their innings. Singapore made 13/1 in 0.5 overs.
