Abhishek Sharma slammed his maiden ton in the IPL.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) opener Abhishek Sharma slammed a stunning century against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in match No. 27 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Sharma slammed his maiden IPL century during the clash at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.

The left-handed batsman reached his century off just 40 balls, registering a strike rate of more than 245. Eventually, Sharma got out for 141 runs, hitting 10 sixes and 14 boundaries during his spectacular innings.. The SRH opener also etched an opening partnership of 171 with his partner Travis Head. The latter got out for 66 runs off 37 balls in the match.

At the end, Pat Cummins-led SRH chased down the target and won the game by eight wickets and nine balls to spare. SRH scored 247/2 to register the second-highest successful run-chase in the history of the IPL. Earlier in the first innings, the visitors piled up their second-highest team total in the IPL history. Opener Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran slammed quickfire knocks of 36 and 42 respectively.

Later, skipper Shreyas Iyer hammered a 36-ball-82 to drive PBKS to a huge total of 245/6. During his knock, Iyer slammed six sixes and six boundaries. Harshal Patel picked a four-wicket haul for SRH, while debutant Eshan Malinga grabbed two wickets.
