Twitter reacts as Bangladesh thrash Pakistan by 10 wickets to register their first ever test win over Pakistan
Bangladesh recorded their 20th test win in 143 matches.
Bangladesh on Sunday scripted history as they recorded their maiden test win over Pakistan at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Najmul Shanto’s side beat the hosts by 10 wickets after being set a modest target of 30.
Pakistan had been put into bat first by Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto, who had won the toss. Pakistan were reduced to 16/3 and 114/4 with Saim Ayub (56) and Saud Shakeel adding 98 runs. But then Shakeel (141) along with Mohammad Rizwan added 240 runs for the fifth wicket and took Pakistan out of trouble.
Mohammad Rizwan made 171* as Shan Masood declared the innings on 448/6d.
In response, Bangladesh opener Shadman Islam made 93 to anchor one end and Mominul Haque made 50 runs while Bangladesh lost a few wickets. But then, Mushfiqur Rahim anchored one end and formed crucial partnerships with Litton Das (56) and Mehidy Hasan Miraz (77) to take Bangladesh to 565. Rahim got out for 191 runs, but gave Bangladesh a crucial 117-run lead.
Pakistan crumbles in second innings to get all out for 146 runs; Bangladesh registers maiden Test win v Men in Green
Pakistan in their second innings looked out of sorts against Bangladesh bowlers. Only Mohammad Rizwan with 51 and Abdullah Shafique with 37 withstood somewhat against Bangladeshi bowling, which sliced through their batting lineup like a hot knife through butter.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz took 4/21 and Shakib Al Hasan took 3/44 as Pakistan were bowled out for 146 runs. Bangladesh received a target of 30 runs to chase, which they did without losing a wicket and won by 10 wickets.

Bangladesh have already beaten nine of the eleven test teams they have faced. They have failed to win against India or South Africa. The win marked Bangladesh’s 20th test victory across 143 matches and the seventh away from home.
