CSK vs KKR: Fans troll Chennai Super Kings as they lose fifth consecutive match of IPL 2025

Chennai Super Kings were bowled out for 103 in the game, their third-lowest total in the IPL.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) faced a huge defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in match No. 25 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Led by MS Dhoni in the clash, CSK registered their third-lowest total in the IPL history.
The Men in Yellow managed to score only 103/9 in the first innings after being asked to bat. They lost both openers Rachin Ravindra and Devon Conway within the first four overs. Later, Vijay Shankar (29) and Shivam Dube (31*) added some runs on the scoreboard.
For KKR, spinner Sunil Narine picked three wickets and Varun Chakravarthy grabbed two scalps. Pacer Harshit Rana also clinched two wickets to dismantle CSK batters. KKR chased down the 104-run target with ease by eight wickets and 59 balls to spare. Narine, who took three wickets earlier in the first innings, also top-scored with the bat scoring 44 runs.

Notably, Dhoni took over as CSK captain from this match replacing Ruturaj Gaikwad as the latter has been ruled out of IPL 2025 with elbow fracture. However, Dhoni’s return as captain could not change the fortunes of the side as they faced their fifth straight defeat in IPL 2025.
After the loss against KKR, CSK are currently placed ninth in the points table with just two points. The five-time champions won their lone game against Mumbai Indians (MI) in their opening match of the tournament. On the other hand, Ajinkya Rahane-led KKR have jumped to the third spot in the points table with six points.
