2011 WC anthem "De Ghumake" starts trending on twitter after ICC releases 2023 WC anthem "Dil Jashn Bole"

ICC released the official anthem of ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 "Dil Jashn Bole" on Wednesday, 20th September.

International Cricket Council (ICC) released the official anthem song for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India. The official anthem ‘Dil Jashn Bole’ features big Bollywood names like Ranveer Singh, Pritam, Jonita Gandhi, Sreeram Chandra, and several social media personalities. The video shows Ranveer Singh taking fans from across the globe on a journey on a train called ‘One Day Express’. The video went viral on social media, and reactions are pouring in on the anthem released by the International Cricket Council.

'De Ghuma Ke' trending

Cricket World Cup is set to be played in India after 12 years. Cricket fans are a little disappointed with the song released as the official anthem for the tournament. Immediately after its release, they started comparing the new one with the old classic ‘De Ghumake’ from World Cup 2011. ‘De Ghumake’ became a raging hit even when social media was just taking its initial steps in the country. The catchy music, lyrics, and trio of Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy made the song most popular among big events in sports.

‘Dil Jashn Bole’ has the energy of Ranveer Singh and several social media personalities to attract a young audience. Wife of Yuzvendra Chahal and choreographer Dhanashree Varma is also part of the video and can be spotted dancing along with Ranveer Singh. The anthem released by International Cricket Council witnessed mixed reactions on social media, with fans still feeling nostalgic about the last 2011 World Cup anthem, ‘De Ghumake’. In 2015, Bob’s Beat became the official anthem for the mega event. In 2019, Stand By feat. Loryn was chosen.

Cricket World Cup 2023 will begin on October 5, with the defending champions England taking on New Zealand. Both of these teams ended up in the finals of the previous edition, where England came out victorious in a controversial final. The opening game will be played at Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad.
