Twitter reacts as Josh Inglis adds more fuel to fire; Scores scintillating century against India in 1st T20I

Josh Inglis scored 110 runs in 50 balls with 8 towering sixes in his knock.

Australia are continuing their dominance against Indian cricket team after the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 final as well. Australian batters have run riot against Indian bowling line-up and scored above 10 runs per over in the first T20I game played at ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Vishakhapatnam. Young Australian batting line-up has posted 208 runs on the board and gave India 209 runs to chase. Josh Inglis smashed his maiden T20I ton.

Wicket-keeper Josh Inglis was promoted up the order and batted at number 3 for Australia in the opening fixture of the T20I series. He used the opportunity to perfection and earned praise for his century knock in social media. Fans enjoyed watching Inglis bat and loved his freestyle stroke-making ability against Indian pace bowlers as well as spinners. He gave a platform for his team to look beyond the 200-run mark.

Josh Inglis blistering ton

Coming in to bat at number 3 after Mathew Short’s dismissal in the 5th over, he took on the bowlers from the beginning. Inglis started his onslaught from the first ball and smashed a beautiful boundary to leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi right after Short’s dismissal. Inglis took on Ravi Bishnoi and didn’t let him settle on his length in his entire 4 overs spell. He also got huge support from Steve Smith at the other end who went on to score 52 runs in 41 balls.

Here’s how twitter reacted to Josh Inglis’ century:

Wicket-keeper Josh Inglis took just 47 balls to completed his maiden T20I hundred in the 13th T20I game. He perished after scoring 110 runs in just 50 balls. Inglis smacked 11 fours and 8 long sixes in his innings. He was always looking to attack the bowler from the first ball of the over and didn’t let anyone settle down. Australian wicket-keeper also improvised in his innings and played a few unusual strokes to better the run rate.

Australia have posted a huge total on the board after being invited to bat by Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav. Steve Smith and Josh Inglis added 130 runs for the 2nd wicket in just 11 overs. Tim David and Marcus Stoinis finished the innings on high. India have been given a target of 209 runs to win the game. Tim David played a decent cameo of 19 runs in 13 balls. Prasidh Krishna (50 runs in 4 overs) and Ravi Bishnoi (54 runs in 4 overs) were the most costly Indian bowlers.
