Priyansh Arya slammed 103 off 42 balls against CSK.

Punjab Kings (PBKS) opener Priyansh Arya slammed an impressive century in 22nd match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 between his side and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to script records. The left-handed batsman scored a century in his fourth game of the tournament, and registered the fastest century by an uncapped player in the tournament’s history.

Talking about the match, Shreyas Iyer-led PBKS won the toss and opted to bat first against CSK in the match 22 of IPL 2025. The encounter is being played at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Chandigarh – the home ground of PBKS.

Fans hail Priyansh Arya on X after his magnificent ton

Arya attacked the CSK bowlers right from the start. He reached his half-century in just 19 deliveries and later converted it into a century off just 39 balls. Eventually, the left-handed batsman got out for 103 runs off 42 balls, smashing at a strike rate of 245.24. The PBKS opener smashed nine sixes and seven fours during his knock.

After Arya slammed a century in the match, he became a trending topic on micro-blogging site X (formerly Twitter). Many fans hailed the young batter with numerous tweets on X. Have a look at some of the tweets below.

Meanwhile, PBKS finished at 219/6 at the end of 20 overs. Except for the centurion Priyansh Arya, who scored 103, no other batsmen from the top six managed to reach double digits for the hosts. Late bloom from Shashank Singh (52 off 36) and Marco Jansen (34 off 19) helped PBKS post a huge total of 219/6 on the board.

Given that CSK haven’t chased 175+ runs target in years, PBKS would be eying for their fourth win of the season with the target they’ve set.
