IPL 2025: Harbhajan Singh leads reactions as Punjab Kings defend 111-run target against KKR

Punjab Kings bowled out KKR for just 95 runs in the second innings.

Punjab Kings (PBKS) grabbed an outstanding victory against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in match No.31 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. In the low-scoring thriller, PBKS successfully defended their first innings total of 111/10 with magnificent bowling effort. PBKS won the match by 16 runs in the end.

Notably, PBKS defended the lowest-ever total in the IPL history. Spinner Yuzvendra Chahal clinched a fabulous four-wicket haul in the second innings to dismantle KKR batters. Pacer Marco Jansen also supported him well by picking up a three-wicket haul. Arshdeep Singh, Xavier Bartlett, and Glenn Maxwell picked one wicket each.

Earlier in the first innings, PBKS skipper Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to bat first. After openers Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh lost their wickets for 22 and 30, PBKS’ batting unit collapsed like a house of cards. Except for the openers, none of the batters managed to cross the 20-run mark.

After their victory, cricketer-turned-commentator Harbhajan Singh hailed the Shreyas Iyer & Co. on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). “Punjabiyaaa di Shaan wakhri @realpreityzinta”, he wrote on X. Have a look at the tweet below.

Notably, many IPL fans also trolled PBKS after their batting collapse in the first innings. They also trolled Iyer over his captaincy and Maxwell for his continuous flop show in IPL 2025. Interestingly, PBKS had shown a poor bowling show in their previous game and failed to defend a gigantic total of 246/5 against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).
