Quinton de Kock has become 3rd cricketer to hit four or more centuries in a single edition of ICC Cricket World Cup.

South African wicket-keeper Quinton De Kock has raced towards his century against New Zealand at MCA Stadium in Pune. South Africa made a great recovery after losing captain Temba Bavuma early in their innings and cruising toward a big score. Trent Boult got Bavuma out for 24 runs. Wicket-keeper Quinton De Kock has carried on his good form in the tournament and smashed his 4th century of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

Quinton De Kock had a wonderful World Cup 2023 so far and he is smashing runs at ease in the ongoing tournament. Social media has gone crazy after De Kock carried on his superb form in the World Cup. South African batsman looks to enjoy his remaining time in ODI cricket as he has already said goodbye to the 50-over format after the World Cup just at the age 30 years. De Kock had played in two editions of ICC Cricket World Cup before 2023, but couldn’t hit a single century. Now he has four.

Here’s how twitter reacted to Quinton de Kock’s century against New Zealand:

Quinton De Kock started slowly as he was struggling to find his feet against Kiwi pace bowler Trent Boult. But slowly after spending a little time in the wicket, he got to groove and started playing his usual drives and cuts. Quinton De Kock completed his 4th World Cup century with a humongous six over long leg against Jimmy Nessham. He took 103 balls to complete his 21st ODI century. He added 200 runs in 31 overs along with Rassie van der Dussen.

Quinton De Kock was dismissed by Tim Southee for 114. De Kock was looking to accelerate on his innings after completing a milestone but found Glenn Phillips alert enough to take a great catch at backward points. South African batter perished after scoring 114 runs in 116 balls with 10 fours and 3 sixes. Trent Boult was the only pacer in the Kiwi setup to trouble Quinton De Kock in his entire innings. De Kock struggled against the pacer early in the powerplay.

Quinton De Kock smashed two back-to-back centuries in South Africa’s first two games against Sri Lanka and Australia respectively. Then he went on to score 174 runs against Bangladesh at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai as his 3rd World Cup century. He is the currently leading run-scorer of the World Cup 2023 with 545 runs in seven innings. New Zealand skipper Tom Latham won the toss and invited South Africa to bat first at MCA Stadium in Pune.
