Rinku Singh smashed 32 runs off 9 deliveries against Australian in the 2nd T20I in Thiruvananthapuram.

Rinku Singh is emerging as a new-age star for India in the T20Is. Once again he has impressed everyone with his brutal power-hitting gameplay against Australia at the Greenfield Cricket Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. Rinku Singh played a magnificent cameo of 31 runs in just 9 balls to take India above 230 in the 2nd T20I. Being invited to bat first India have posted 235 runs on the board and given Australia a target of 236 runs.

Left-hander Rinku Singh’s smart play in the final overs have put him amongst the top fan favourites. Social media is abuzz with Rinku Singh’s stroke-making in the 2nd T20I. Fans on social media have enjoyed Rinku Singh’s onslaught against the Australian bowling lineup. Australia badly needed a win to come back in the five-match T20I series. India need to defend 235 runs to take a lead of 2-0 in the ongoing series. 

Rinku smashed 5 boundaries in one over

Rinku Singh came in to bat at Number 5 in the batting order. Rinku got a set platform and he needed to go with just one gear in his stroke-making. Rinku Smashed 4 fours and 2 sixes in his small 9 ball innings. He took Australian pacer Sean Abbott to the cleaners and smashed 25 runs (1 wide) in his final over. He smacked 3 fours and 4 sixes in Abbott’s 4th over. Sean Abbott finished with figures of 56/0 in 4 overs.

In the opening game of the series, Rinku Singh took India home after a tightrope finish in the final moments. India needed one run in the final ball of the game to win and he smashed a six (not counted due to the no-ball by bowler) to win the game. Rinku scored an unbeaten 22 runs in 14 balls with 4 fours. Rinku’s strike rate is above 200 in the 4 innings he has played in his T20I career so far. Rinku has scored 128 runs in 4 innings he batted in and remained unbeaten thrice. 

India got off to a blistering start once again as Yashasvi Jaiswal smashed 53 runs in 25 balls. Jaiswal scored 24 runs in one over off Marcus Stoinis. Jaiswal has become the opening batter India need in the shortest format. Ruturaj Gaikwad (58) and Ishan Kishan (52) also batted brilliantly to take India’s total to a mammoth 235 runs in Thiruvananthapuram. Indian batsmen smashed 19 fours and 13 sixes collectively in 20 overs. Nathan Ellis picked up 3 wickets for Australia.
