Sai Sudharsan was removed by England skipper Ben Stokes for a four-ball duck in the first test.
Indian Cricket Team batter Sai Sudharsan didn’t have a great start to his career in the longest format of the game as he bagged a duck on his debut in the ongoing game against the England Cricket Team. The first game of the five-match series between the teams is underway at Headingley in Leeds.
India were asked to bat first in the ongoing game against England. They had a brilliant start with the bat as openers in Yashasvi Jaiswal (42*) and KL Rahul (42) looked in great touch as a pair. They made bowlers work hard and made sure that they took their team to a dream start, adding 91 runs for the opening partnership.
However, on the stroke of lunch, England made a solid comeback as first KL Rahul chased the delivery outside off and was caught in the slips. Sai Sudharsan, who walked out at three and was expected to do something special on his debut, failed as well.
Sai Sudharsan looked shaky as England put pressure on him right from the time he arrived at the crease. The batter looked nervous and fell into the leg side trap by England skipper Ben Stokes.
Ben Stokes, who set the leg slip, added leg gully as well and attacked the pads of Sai Sudharsan. The plan was to make the batter doubt the flick/glance, and the batter was very mindful of the men behind. But he curbed himself on the flick, and as a result, the ball took the edge and was caught by keeper Jamie Smith.
Sai Sudharsan was back in the hut after playing just four balls. With his wicket, India lost their second wicket in a flash and were reduced to 92 for two at lunch on day one at Headingly.
