Twitter reacts as Travis Head scores a match-winning century against India in ICC World Cup 2023 Final

Travis Head joined a long list of batters to score hundred in CWC final.
On November 19, the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 final between India and Australia got underway at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Australia won the toss on a difficult pitch and elected to bowl first.
India got off to a shaky start, losing Shubman Gill for four runs, but Rohit Sharma responded with a 47-ball 47 with four fours and three sixes. Then Australia struck, taking consecutive wickets of Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer. Virat Kohli (54) and KL Rahul (54) held the innings together hoping for a late surge in the last over.
However, Australian bowling and, notably, fielding were outstanding. The bowlers maintained a firm hold on the proceedings, with fielders assisting them. KL Rahul batted for 107 balls and scored 66 runs, while Suryakumar Yadav scored 18 runs in 28 balls.
India’s final overs was not the way they would have liked, as, from 80/2 in 10 overs, India scored only 180 runs for the last eight wickets. India scored 240 runs in 50 overs.
Mitchell Starc grabbed three wickets for Australia, while Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins both picked took two wickets.
Travis Head leads the way for Australia with a magnificent hundred
Australia started poorly as David Warner got out for 7 in what might be his final World Cup appearance. Then Jasprit Bumrah struck in quick time removing Mitchell Marsh (15) and Steve Smith (4), leaving Australia 47/3 in 7 overs.
After that, Travis Head and Marnus Labuschagne rebuilt the innings adding over 150 for the 4th wicket. Travis Head shouldered the innings with a brilliant century which came off 95 balls, with him hitting 14 fours and 1 six to his name. This knock took Australia closer to a 6th World Cup title win. Travis Head had earlier in this year scored 163 runs against India in the ICC World Test Championship.
Fans and the cricket fraternity were all praises for Travis Head’s brilliance and lauded him on social media.
