Travis Head scored a century on Day 3 of Sydney Test in The Ashes 2025-26.

Australian Cricket Team opener Travis Head achieved a massive feat with his century in the fifth test of The Ashes 2025-26 against England Cricket Team on Tuesday, January 6. The left-handed batsman reached the three-figure mark on day 3 of the encounter, which is underway at Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney.

Head finished at an unbeaten 91 runs at the stumps of day 2, and then scored his ton in the first session of day 3, smacking his third century in the ongoing series. Earlier, he also hammered a century in the first test in Perth (123) and the fourth test in Melbourne (170).

In the Sydney Test, the 32-year-old rocked with his batting heroics once again, making the England bowlers helpless against his might. He eventually got out at 163 runs off 166 deliveries, becoming victim of spinner Jacob Bethel. His innings was laced with 24 boundaries and one six.

With his century, Head has become the fifth batter to score three centuries in a single Ashes series since 2000. He has joined the likes of Alastair Cook, Michael Vaughan, Steve Smith, and Matthew Hayden for the record.

Moreover, Head has also equalled the record for most test centuries in an Ashes campaign by an Australian opener, which has been achieved by nine players so far.
