Tushar Deshpande responds to MS Dhoni's warning on conceding extra runs
Tushar Deshpande, coming in as an "Impact Player" conceded 45 runs against LSG in 4 overs including 7 extras.
After getting a close win against Lucknow Super Giants in their homecoming at Chepauk, CSK Captain MS Dhoni had a warning for their Fast bowler. MS Dhoni asked his fast bowlers to cut down on the extras bowled by CSK pacers. Deepak Chahar, Rajwardhan Hangargekar, and Tushar Deshpande all three were a little wayward in their line against Lucknow on Monday night. Now Tushar Deshpande has responded to criticism the CSK pace attack is facing for conceding too many extras. Chennai Super Kings defeated Lucknow by just 12 runs. In a high scoring encounter, Lucknow Super Giants failed to chase down 218 runs.
Tushar Deshpande responds to continuous criticism
Introduced as an impact player in the last two games, Tushar Deshpande has also shown concern with the CSK pace attack performance in the game. He has compared bowling no-ball in T20 cricket to a crime committed by a bowler. Deshpande expressing his concern said, “Bowling in death is not an easy skill. I am still learning, we have a great death bowler as our coach (DJ Bravo) and I am just trying to pick his brains”. He admits that bowling a no-ball in T20 is a crime, He said, “I am a firm believer in the present… Bowling no-balls is a crime in T20 but if I keep cribbing about it I will give 10 more extra runs”.
CSK Pacers lack of control proving costly
In both the games so far, CSK has played with Deepak Chahar, Rajwardhan Hangargekar, and Tushar Deshpande in pace bowling. Against Lucknow Super Giant they conceded 12 wides and 3 no-balls combined. Tushar bowled three no-balls in the innings and gave away 4 wides. Deshpande has also said that he is focused on improving his bowling and is not worried about selection. CSK spinners have done a magnificent job on both occasions. Moeen Ali and Mitchell Santner's 8 overs helped Chennai defend 217 runs in a batting friendly wicket.
In their next game CSK will face their arch-rivals, Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on 8th April. Before this all important game, CSK Bowling Coach Dwayne Bravo will surely work on improving the lines of the three pace bowlers.
