Twitter erupts as Rinku Singh smashes 38 off 21 deliveries in first T20I innings

Rinku Singh smashed 38 off 21 deliveries at a strike rate of 180.95 with 2 fours and 3 sixes.

Rinku Singh has announced his arrival on the big stage with a bang. In his maiden T20I innings in the 2nd T20I against Ireland, Rinku Singh smashed bowlers all around the park to score 38 runs in 21 balls. Rinku Singh’s debut was the most awaited one in Indian cricket after his magnificent work in the Indian Premier League 2023 for Kolkata Knight Riders. Rinku has replicated the same and made fans thrilled over his swashbuckling innings. Rinku’s batting also put socialmedia abuzz with his name after his blistering quick finish to take India close to 190. 

The Left-hander smashed 2 fours and 3 big sixes in his innings. In his last 5 legal deliveries, he scored 22 runs with 3 sixes and a four. Barry McCarthy became his main target after a slow start in his innings and sent McCarthy for boundary three times in his over. As he was smashing boundaries at The Village ground in Malahide, his name started trending on social media. Fans went over the moon with Rinku Singh’s onslaught as a finisher and claimed that he will end India’s long wait in search of a finisher in T20 International.

Along with Rinku Singh, all-rounder Shivam Dube also had a great outing in the final over and smashed two big sixes to help India put up 185 runs on the board. Shivam smashed two back-to-back towering sixes off Mark Adair and ended up on 22 runs in 16 balls. Fans were enthralled to watch Rinku Singh replicating his Indian Premier League performance in international cricket as well. Ireland need 186 runs in 20 overs to level the 3-match T20I series in Malahide.

Along with Rinku and Shivam Dube, Indian opening batter Ruturaj Gaikwad and wicket-keeper Sanju Samson also made good use of the opportunity. Ruturaj remained the top scorer for India in the innings with his 58 runs knock off 43 balls. Sanju Samson also had a great innings with bat and stabilised India’s innings along with Gaikwad after two quick wickets in the powerplay. Sanju scored 40 runs in 26 balls and added 69 runs for the 3rd wicket with Gaikwad.
