India's tour of West Indies 2023
Twitter reacts as Suryakumar Yadav's scintillating 83 helps India beat WI in 3rd T20I by 7 wickets to keep series alive

Suryakumar Yadav top-scored for India with 83 runs in the third T20I against West Indies.
India won the third T20I of the five-match series against West Indies which was played at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on August 8, 2023. West Indies came into this match with a lead of 2-0 in the series.
Having won the toss, Rovman Powell decided to bat first. Jason Holder was replaced in the starting lineup by Roston Chase due to a knee ailment, he also disclosed. India, on the other hand, made two adjustments: Yashashvi Jaiswal made his T20I debut in place of Ishan Kishan, and Kuldeep Yadav returned to the starting XI in place of Ravi Bishnoi.
Brandon King (42) and Kyle Mayers (25) got West Indies off to a fast start, scoring 55 runs in just 7.3 overs. But in rapid succession, Kuldeep Yadav and Akshar Patel took them out.
Johnson Charles scored 12 runs before being bowled out by Kuldeep, and Nicholas Pooran scored 20 runs in 12 deliveries before being stumped by Sanju Samson off Kuldeep.
West Indies appeared to be restricted to under 150 runs by Indian bowlers at 105/3 in 14 overs. However, they were only able to score 159/5 in 20 overs as skipper Rovman Powell smashed 40* in 19 balls, including 3 sixes and 1 four.
Kuldeep Yadav picked up 3/28 to reach 50 T20I wickets more quickly than any other Indian bowler.
Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma show helps India stay alive in the series
Debutant Yashasvi Jaiswal got out early after scoring just one run in an effort to capitalize on the powerplay opportunities. Shubman Gill only scored 6 runs, continuing his poor performance in this T20I series.
However, in just 8.2 overs, Tilak Varma and Suryakumar Yadav added 87 runs for the third wicket. Suryakumar Yadav was harsh on the opposing bowlers, using all of his available strokes throughout the Providence Stadium.
He appeared to be on track for a fourth T20I century, but instead, he was dismissed for 83 runs off 44 balls, having hit 10 fours and 4 sixes. However, the young Tilak Varma kept up the trend with some outstanding batting on display.
Tilak Varma remained unbeaten on 49 in 37 balls, while Hardik Pandya made 20*, hitting a six to seal the win. India won the match with quite an ease with 7 wickets in hand and managed to stay alive in the series with this win.
The last two T20Is of the series will be played in Florida, USA on August 12 and 13. Indian cricket fans on social media were ecstatic after the win and showed their adulation on Twitter.
