Twitter trolls 3rd umpire Richard Kettleborough following Shubman Gill's controversial wicket

Indian opener Shubman Gill was given out in a controversial catch taken by Cameron Green.

Indian fans are dejected after Shubman Gill’s wicket on day 4. A huge controversy emerged as Cameron Green’s unclear catch was adjudged against Shubman Gill. Gill was caught at third slip by Cameron Green when Scott Boland took an edge of his bat’s shoulder. Gill was disappointed after the umpire’s ruling as it brought a huge debate over his dismissal. Plenty of opinions have come in to support Gill and claim that Green’s catch was not clean. Third Umpire Richard Kettleborough took multiple looks at multiple replays before deciding on his decision.

Twitter has flooded in favour of Shubman Gill while a few opinions have also come in to support Green’s screamer at the third slip. Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag has posted a picture on Twitter depicting the third umpire as blindfolded before making a decision. While few of the fans have also claimed that the ball touched the ground before going into the hand of Shubman Gill. Indian captain Rohit Sharma also had a chat with umpires after Richard Kettleborough ruled Gill out and gave the green signal to Green’s take. Gill was also in disbelief and waited for some time at the crease before walking out for a tea break.
