Cameron Green did not bowl in KKR’s previous matches in IPL 2026.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) bought Cameron Green for a whopping INR 25.20 crore in the IPL 2026 mini-auction. However, he has struggled to make a mark with the bat, getting out for low scores in all three games.
He got out for 18 runs in the first game against the Mumbai Indians. In the second clash against SRH, he lost his wicket for just 2 runs. In the previous clash against the Punjab Kings, which was a washed-out game, Green was gone for four runs in the second over itself.
Moreover, he did not bowl any overs in the previous games. Cricket Australia (CA) has not permitted him to bowl in the early stage of IPL 2026 as he is rehabilitating from a minor lower back injury.
Notably, KKR are already short of pacers like Harshit Rana and Akash Deep in IPL 2026, both of whom were ruled out due to injury. Moreover, Sri Lankan fast bowler Matheesha Pathirana is yet to receive the NOC to participate in IPL 2026.
In such a scenario, Green lending a hand in bowling has become a necessity for the three-time champions. Now, KKR have got a big boost as Green is expected to bowl soon.
Cameron Green is expected to bowl in the next clash against LSG

According to a report by ESPN Cricinfo, Green is expected to bowl for the Knight Riders in their next clash against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). They will clash with LSG on April 9 (Thursday) at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
Ahead of the tournament, CA had stated that, “Cameron has a lower-back injury, which is being managed, but requires him to abstain from bowling for a short period. Cameron is currently rebuilding his bowling loads in India with a view to return in around 10-12 days’ time.”
Since KKR will be facing LSG in the 15th match of IPL 2026 and 10 days of the tournament have already passed, it is expected that Green will be ready to resume his bowling in the upcoming encounter.
