Major update on Josh Hazlewood’s availability for RCB vs CSK clash of IPL 2026

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are set to clash with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their next match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. The RCB vs CSK encounter will take place on Sunday, April 5, at Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
The Rajat Patidar & Co. made a fabulous start to IPL 2026 by crushing Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in their opening game. They chased down a 202-run target by six wickets as Devdutt Padikkal and Virat Kohli hit half-centuries to make fun of chase.
Notably, Josh Hazlewood was not part of the previous game against SRH. The Australian pacer joined the RCB camp ahead of the tournament. But is still recovering from hamstring and Achilles injuries.
Josh Hazlewood takes part in practice sessions ahead of RCB vs CSK clash in IPL 2026
The Australian pacer participated in the practice sessions at Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday. He recently was also seen bowling to Virat Kohli nets as well, which in itself was a hint that he might be ready for RCB vs CSK clash.
Notably, Hazlewood has been recovering from the injuries since November last year. The right-arm pacer last played for Australia in October 2025. He didn’t play a part in The Ashes 2025-26 and also missed T20 World Cup 2026 in February and March.
Last season, Hazlewood played a pivotal role in RCB’s title-winning campaign. He clinched 22 wickets in 12 matches at an average of 17.55 and an economy of 8.77, including a four-wicket haul. He finished as the team’s highest taker and third overall.
Meanwhile, RCB are currently placed in the fourth spot in the points table with two points. CSK languish at the last spot after losing both of their opening games. They lost to Rajasthan Royals in their opening game and later suffered a defeat against Punjab Kings.
