Usman Khawaja retires: Check his numbers in international cricket

Usman Khawaja played for Australia from 2011 to 2026.

Australian Cricket Team opener Usman Khawaja announced his retirement from international cricket on Friday, January 2. In an official press conference, the left-handed batsman stated that his last game for Australia will be the fifth test of The Ashes 2025-26 at Sydney Cricket Ground, Sydney.

Khawaja is one of the best openers to play for Australia in test cricket. He made his international debut in a test match against England in January 2011. A few years later, he made his ODI debut in 2013 and T20I debut in 2016. Although he could not cement his place in the white-ball formats, he captured the opening slot in tests for a long time with his marvellous performances.

From 2013 to 2019, he featured in 40 games in the 50-over format, smacking 1554 runs, including two centuries and 12 half-centuries. He played nine T20I games in 2016, scoring 241 runs with a lone half-century. After 2019, he only represented Australia in tests.

The 39-year-old batter was part of the Australia team that won the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2021-23 title, crushing India in the summit clash. In 2023, he grabbed the spotlight by winning the ICC Test Player of the Year award.

Khawaja showcased his impeccable batting might in January 2025, smacking a double century against Sri Lanka. Hitting 232 runs in the opening test of the two-match series in Galle, he registered his highest score in the longest format of the game.

In Ashes 2025-26, he became the 19th Australian batter to touch the mark of 8000 runs in international cricket. As Usman Khawaja retires from international cricket, below are his detailed records across formats.
