Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has impressed with his performances in IPL 2026.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has impressed with his performances in the Indian Premier League 2026 and the U19 World Cup. He is the opening batsman for Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the tournament and has played a key role in the team’s success so far.

The left-handed batsman scored a half-century in the first game against the Chennai Super Kings. He also scored a match-winning half-century against RCB. In just five games, he has scored 200 runs at an average of 40.0 and a strike rate of over 250.

Moreover, Sooryavanshi has also impressed with his ability to take on big bowlers. He was quite successful against bowlers like Jasprit Bumrah, Trent Boult, and Josh Hazlewood, among others.

As per a report in The Times of India, Sooryavanshi is likely to make his debut for the Indian Cricket Team. He is in contention to be picked for the T20I series against Ireland.

India are set to tour Ireland for a two-match T20I series in June. The two matches will take place on June 26 and 28. A second-string squad is likely to be selected from India, and young players who make a mark in IPL 2026 might get opportunities.

If Vaibhav gets a chance to make his debut in the Ireland tour, he will become the youngest Indian cricketer to make his international debut. The current record is held by Sachin Tendulkar, who made his debut in 1989 at the age of 16.

Meanwhile, Sooryavanshi suffered a golden duck in the previous game against Sunrisers Hyderabad, and RR also faced their first defeat of IPL 2026 in this clash. However, they still hold the top spot in the points table with eight points.

Riyan Parag & Co. have won four and lost one out of five games so far. They will next face Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on April 19 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
