Rajasthan Royals acquired Vaibhav Suryavanshi for INR 1.1 crores in IPL 2025 mega auction.

India has been in excellent form in the ongoing U19 Asia Cup. After suffering a setback in their opening game against Pakistan, the Men in Blue bounced back strongly with comfortable victories over Japan and United Arab Emirates.

The team posted a mammoth total of 330 runs against Japan, to secure a 211-run victory. In the next game, they bundled out UAE for 137 runs to record a 10-wicket win to book their place in the semifinals of the tournament.

India’s semi-final clash against Sri Lanka saw the continuation of their excellent form. Bowling first, Chetan Sharma, Ayush Mhatre and Kiran Chormale combined to pick seven wickets to restrict the Lankans to a small total of 173 runs.

In reply, India cruised to the 174-run target on the back of Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s excellent 67-run knock. Suryavanshi’s crucial innings consisted of six boundaries and five towering sixes.

The most remarkable stroke of Vaibhav’s innings came during the second over of the Indian innings. He launched a back-of-length delivery from Dulnith Sigera out of the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

Vaibhav has emerged as one of the most exciting talents in the Indian circuit. The 13-year-old made history in the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction, becoming the youngest player ever to be sold at the event.

The young southpaw is set to be part of the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in IPL 2025. This opportunity will be a great learning experience for him, as he will be coached by Rahul Dravid and share the dressing room with established international stars like Sanju Samson and Yashasvi Jaiswal.

India will now face the winner of Pakistan and Bangladesh in the final of the tournament.
