Vaibhav Suryavanshi has put great strides forward in his career since the last few months.
Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) on Monday (13th October) named the Bihar squad for the upcoming Ranji Trophy 2025-26. 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi has been named as the vice-captain of the side, which will be captained by Sakibul Gani.
The appointment of Vaibhav Suryavanshi as vice-captain comes as a massive development as despite being young, he has been handed the responsibility. This in turn also shows his rise since the last few months, especially after what he did in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for Rajasthan Royals (RR).
Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s appointment came on the back of the performances that he gave for India U19 on the recent tours to England and Australia. The young batter shone in both the series and helped his team win important games.
In the most recent tour to Australia, Vaibhav Suryavanshi slammed a 78-ball ton in the first four-day match in Brisbane. He also ended as the second-highest run-scorer of the multi-day series, scoring 133 runs in three innings, helping his team win by a margin of 2-0.
During the England tour, he hit the fastest century in the youth one-dayers, playing an innings of 143. Overall in the series, he slammed 355 runs at a strike rate of 174.01 and finished as the leading run-getter in the series.
Suryavanshi has played five first-class games since debuting in January 2024 at 12 years and 284 days. He has managed just 100 runs in ten innings, with a best of 41 but with experience under his belt now, he would he keen to set the stage on fire in the Ranji Trophy 2025/26.
