Former fast bowler of India Venkatesh Prasad has lashed out on team India’s performance in T20Is against West Indies.

Following Team India’s disappointing loss to West Indies in the second ODI at Bridgetown, former Indian fast bowler Venkatesh Prasad took to social media to express his frustration. Prasad’s remarks on Twitter shed light on his dissatisfaction with the team’s poor performance.

While his critique began with the ODI defeat, it resonates more deeply as he continues to slam the team for their continuous poor showings in the T20I format against West Indies. The team’s struggles in the shortest format of the game have been a matter of concern for cricket enthusiasts. Despite having a formidable lineup, India’s inability to consistently perform at the highest level in T20Is has raised eyebrows. Prasad, in his unique, straightforward style, has made his thoughts clear on this matter.

Venkatesh Prasad’s reactions have been particularly striking. He emphasized that the team cannot simply ignore or downplay their continuous poor performances. His frustration comes from the fact that India, despite boasting remarkable individual talents, have failed to capitalize and deliver cohesive team performances.

Venkatesh Prasad’s disappointment in the T20Is loss was palpable as he tweeted:

“Very very ordinary. No point in brushing it aside. After the 2007 T20 World Cup, IPL started and we haven’t won a T20 World Cup in 7 attempts since, making only 1 finals. The intensity and hunger to win needs to be far more . Yesterday after Yuzi took 2 wkts in the 16th.”

Venkatesh Prasad praised Yuzvendra Chahal to give India a ray of hope in the 2nd T20I

He backed the Indian spinner Yuzvendra Chahal on bringing the team back in the game, but was shocked by the bowling changes that took place.

“And Yuzi got India back into the game in what was his third over and West Indies 8th down and he didn’t bowl again and No 9 and 10 for WI found the pacers easy to handle. Should be smarter at these moments then just doing textbook stuff, “ added Venkatesh Prasad.

Prasad’s concerns go beyond the individual matches and delve into the team’s overall approach. His tweet, underscores the need for the team to exhibit strategic thinking and adaptability. His statements indirectly emphasize that merely following conventional methods might not be sufficient in the fast-paced and dynamic T20 format.
