IPL 2023: Vijay Shankar makes an honest statement on the talks about his place in CWC 2023

All-rounder Vijay Shankar has smashed 199 runs in 6 innings for Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2023.
The Indian Premier League is giving discarded Indian players a chance to put their names before selectors once again. After Ajinkya Rahane, It's Vijay Shankar from Gujarat Titans who has made his case for a place in the Indian cricket team for limited-overs internationals. Shankar has impressed everyone with his approach in the IPL 2023. Shankar has been scoring aggressively for the Titans. There are a few places still in consideration and a few players are also in contention. Shankar with his IPL performance has put his name forward. Shankar also made a big statement about his chances for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.
Vijay Shankar got 'no expectation'
With Shreyas Iyer’s injury and looking at his possibility of skipping the World Cup, there are chances selectors might try a few options before the WC. Shankar was part of the 2019 World Cup squad. He was picked as a 3-dimensional player for the tournament. Once again, fans are getting similar vibes before an all-important ICC tournament. After the KKR game, Vijay Shankar made an important statement regarding his plans. He said, “I will be really happy to contribute to my team’s wins. Cricket is something we love, that’s why we continue playing. No expectation, I just want to enjoy my Cricket”.
All-rounder Vijay Shankar smashed 51 runs in 24 balls with 2 fours and 5 sixes. He has scored 199 runs in 6 innings for the Titans. Before Eden Gardens game, Shankar played another brilliant knock against KKR in Ahmedabad. Shankar smashed 63 runs in 24 balls with 4 fours and 5 sixes. He has been batting freely and his power-hitting looked better. Shankar is much fitter and a batter than he was in the 2019 World Cup.
So far, Vijay Shankar has played 12 ODIs and 9 T20 internationals for Team India. Shankar made his international debut in March 2018 against Sri Lanka in the T20 format. He made his ODI debut against Australia in 2019 only. Shankar was injured in between the 2019 World Cup and had to leave the team midway. Shankar has not got any chance in international cricket after the World Cup 2019.
