Sachin had a magnificent World Cup campaign in World Cup 2003 but missed out on the title after a crushing defeat against Australia at Wanderers. Australian opener Mathew Hayden is third on the list with 659 runs in Cricket World Cup 2007.

South African wicket-keeper Quinton De Kock (591) is also chasing Sahin’s 673-run mark as he is closer to the number and has a few opportunities in the remaining matches of World Cup 2023. India are in a comfortable position at Wankhede Stadium against New Zealand.
