Virat Kohli was fined 100% of his match fees for his antics on the field.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batter Virat Kohli had an eventful night against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Lucknow on May 1st as his team defeated the KL Rahul-led side by 18 runs despite scoring only 126/9 themselves.

On a testing pitch, Faf du Plessis scored 44 and Kohli made 31 and their 62-run opening partnership was the biggest reason why RCB posted a decent total against LSG. Naveen Ul Haq picked three wickets, while Ravi Bishnoi and Amit Mishra took two wickets apiece.

In reply, LSG were handicapped as skipper KL Rahul had suffered a hip flexor injury and was unable to bat at the start and LSG batters found it even more difficult to bat on the slowing pitch as Josh Hazlewood and Karn Sharma put immense pressure on them.

K Gowtham top-scored with 23 and Amit Mishra made 19 runs as LSG only managed 108 runs in 19.5 overs. For RCB, Josh Hazlewood and Karn Sharma picked two wickets apiece.

Virat Kohli and Naveen Ul Haq have a tiff during and after the match

The tempers flared during and after the match in particular as Kohli and Gautam Gambhir got into a heated exchange. Both were in each other's faces before being separated by their respective teammates.

It all started during the match when LSG pacer Naveen-ul-Haq said something to Kohli between the overs, before the 16th over of the second innings. Veteran players Amit Mishra and one of the on-field umpires came to the rescue and parted Kohli and Naveen before the matter got fiery.

However, Naveen has a lot to say to Kohli when the time came for a customary handshake between the two teams. Naveen said something to Kohli yet again and the former RCB skipper didn't hold himself back again. Glenn Maxwell asked Naveen to calm down before they went their separate ways.

After the match, Virat Kohli posted a cryptic story on his Instagram: "Everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact. Everything we see is a perspective, not the truth."
