IPL 2023: Virat Kohli becomes first batsman to score 7000 runs in the IPL

Virat Kohli creates history
In his IPL career. Virat Kohli has played 233 games (including DC). Virat took 225 innings to reach 7000 runs in the league. Shikhar Dhawan is second in the leading run-scorer in this list with 6536 runs in 212 innings. Virat Kohli has smashed 5 centuries and 49 half-centuries so far. Virat also holds the record for scoring the most runs in one season of the IPL. He smashed 973 runs in the IPL 2016. Jos Buttler came closer to overtaking him last season but he could manage 863 runs.
Virat Kohli is also India’s leading run-scorer in the T20 format. In his T20 career, he has scored 11690 runs in 352 innings. Virat’s consistency in all formats is commendable, in his 369 matches long T20 career he has batted with an average of 41.01 and scored 6 centuries. He is also the leading run-scorer in international T20 cricket with more than 4000 runs in 115 games.
Against Delhi Capitals, Virat Kohli has smashed a half-century. He along with captain Faf du Plessis have taken charge of RCB’s batting lineup. Virat Kohli has been the mainstay of RCB’s batting since season one. RCB and the Indian Premier League gave him an opportunity to enter the Indian Cricket team at the early age of just 19.
