Virat Kohli made his IPL debut in 2008.

Virat Kohli is one of the few players to have participated in every season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Starting his journey in 2008, it took him time to develop into a fearsome T20 player. Notably, he is the only player to represent same franchise in all seasons since the inception of the league.

Initially assigned the anchor role, Virat Kohli developed power-hitting abilities after 2013 and set a record by smashing four hundreds in IPL 2016.

10. 93* vs Sunrisers Hyderabad, Bengaluru, 2013

Known for his art to rotate the strike, Virat Kohli scored an unbeaten 93 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Bengaluru in 2013.

Chasing a formidable target of 162, Kohli led RCB’s charge, scoring 93* off 47 balls, including 11 fours and four sixes. He was well supported by Mayank Agarwal, who scored 29 runs.

RCB won the game by seven wickets and Kohli was named Player of the Match for his efforts.

9. 99 vs Delhi Capitals, Delhi, 2013

Virat Kohli came agonizingly close to registering his first IPL century in 2013 against Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) in Delhi.

Batting first, RCB notched up a competitive total of 183/4 on the back of Kohli’s 99-run knock, which included 10 fours and four sixes. He put on 94 runs with AB De Villiers for the fourth-wicket to propel the team to a mammoth total.

RCB won the game four runs.

8. 100 vs Sunrisers Hyderabad, Hyderabad, 2023

Next on the list is Kohli’s century against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Hyderabad during the 2023 season.

Chasing 187, RCB made a strong start with openers Virat and Faf du Plessis adding 172 runs for the first wicket. Kohli stood out, scoring 100 off 63 balls, including 12 fours and four sixes.

His innings helped RCB win the game by eight wickets and earn Player of the Match award.

7. 100 vs Kolkata Knight Riders, Kolkata, 2019

The RCB vs KKR match in Kolkata in 2019 is widely remembered for the dramatic last-over finish, driven by Nitish Rana and Andre Russell’s fiery knocks in the second innings.

What’s often forgotten is Virat Kohli’s brilliant 100 off 58 balls, which included nine fours and four sixes. The Delhi batter started slowly but later accelerated, helping RCB reach 213/4 on an excellent pitch.

He was rewarded with the Player of the Match award in RCB’s 10-run victory.

6. 100* vs Gujarat Lions, Rajkot, 2016

Next on the list is Virat Kohli’s first-ever century in the IPL. Opening the innings, Virat Kohli scored a brilliant century (100*) against Gujarat Lions in Rajkot in 2016.

Asked to bat first, Kohli made full use of the excellent batting pitch, smashing 11 fours and a six in his 61-ball stay. KL Rahul’s quickfire unbeaten 51 off 35 balls at the end helped the franchise reach a competitive total of 180 in the first innings.

RCB later lost the game by four wickets with three balls to spare.

5. 101* vs Gujarat Titans, Bengaluru, 2023

Kohli played a terrific knock of unbeaten 101 runs against Gujarat Titans in Bengaluru in 2023. Batting first, RCB made 197/5 on the back of Kohli’s 101* off 61 balls, which included 13 fours and a six.

He added 67 runs with Faf du Plessis for the opening wicket, laying the foundation for the upcoming batsmen to play more freely.

Shubman Gill’s century in the second innings meant RCB lost the match by six wickets with five balls to spare.

4. 108* vs Rising Pune Supergiants, Bengaluru, 2016

Known for his composure in run-chases, Kohli scored an unbeaten 108 against Rising Pune Supergiants in Bengaluru in 2016.

Chasing a huge target of 192, Kohli led RCB’s charge, smashing 108* off 58 balls, including eight fours and seven sixes. He was well supported by Shane Watson, who scored 36 runs off just 13 balls.

RCB won the game by seven wickets and Virat was named Player of the Match for his efforts.

3. 109 vs Gujarat Lions, Bengaluru, 2016

Out of Virat’s four centuries in IPL 2016, two came against Gujarat Lions. The second one came in RCB’s home game in Bengaluru. Batting first, Bengaluru’s innings was led by Virat Kohli, who smashed 109 off 55 balls.

The captain joined forces with AB de Villiers to add 229 runs for the second wicket. Kohli’s superb innings included five fours and eight sixes. RCB won the game by 144 runs.

2. 113 vs Punjab Kings, Bengaluru, 2016

One of Kohli’s most memorable IPL innings came in Bengaluru against Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) during the 2016 season.

Kohli’s 113-run knock, which consisted of 12 fours and eight sixes, propelled the hosts to a massive first-innings score of 211 runs in a 15-over game. What made this innings special was that Kohli’s power-hitting made Chris Gayle look like an anchor at the other end.

RCB won the game by 82 runs.

1. 113* vs Rajasthan Royals, Jaipur, 2024

Virat Kohli registered his highest IPL score of 113* during the 19th match of IPL 2024 against Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur.

After being asked to bat first, RCB notched up a challenging total of 183/3 on the back of Kohli’s stunning century, which included 12 fours and four sixes. He put on 125 runs with Faf Du Plessis for the opening-wicket partnership to lay the foundation for the total.

Despite his heroics, RCB lost the match by six wickets with five balls to spare.
