Virat Kohli got out for a duck in ICC Cricket World Cups for the first time.

Frustrated Virat Kohli acted irrationally after getting out for a duck in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 match between India and England. This encounter is being played on October 29, 2023, at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow.

England won the toss and chose to bowl first on a slowish-looking Lucknow track. Both England and India came into this encounter with unchanged playing XIs.

India got things started with Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill. David Willey began with a maiden over to Rohit Sharma, who began cautiously.

Shubman Gill, was clean-bowled by Chris Woakes for nine runs. Gill attempted an extended cover drive but the ball nicked back into him after pitching. Virat Kohli attempted to remain patient for a while before attempting to hit over mid-off. But went back to pavilion without scoring any runs.

Shreyas Iyer had high expectations, but he, too, succumbed to his known weakness against short balls. He was out for four runs after attempting to pull a bigger delivery from Woakes.

On the other hand, Virat Kohli was not happy with the way he got out and took out his frustration on a sofa in the dressing room by punching it. Kohli's first duck in this World Cup career came as he gifted his wicket to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) partner David Willey.

Kohli miscued Willey's short delivery, and Ben Stokes made no mistake in completing a straight-forward catch at mid-off. Kohli was extremely outraged at his dismissal and could be seen slamming the dressing room sofa in frustration in footage that went viral on social media.
