Virat Kohli didn’t get an opportunity to bat in ODI series against West Indies.

Virat Kohli may have not played in the ODI series against West Indies as the Indian team management decided to give Virat and Rohit a rest from the last two ODIs. Despite losing the 5 wickets in the first game, Virat didn’t come into bat. As the Team management decided to promote the younger generations to provide them with more game time. Virat Kohli had a great test series and smashed a century at Queens Park Oval in Trinidad. He scored 76 runs in the first test at Windsor Park in Dominica. 

Despite staying away from the action in the ODI series, Virat Kohli was still the star attraction in ODIs. During the final ODI at Brian Lara Academy, Virat Kohli was seen enjoying his time away in the dressing room. Virat Kohli was seen at his stylish best when the Indian team was batting and going strong against the West Indies. Virat Kohli was spotted with a ‘Kala Chashma’ while enjoying the Indian batters onslaught against men in maroon. Fan Code posted a video of him on Twitter with a Bollywood superhit song ‘Kala Chashma’ playing in the background. 

Before the Asia Cup next month, This was Virat Kohli’s golden chance to get some game time in 50 overs format. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma both missed out on an opportunity to find their rhythm in the 50-overs format as coach Rahul Dravid decided to rest them for the final two ODI. Team India will play 8 T20 games, 5 against West Indies and 3 against Ireland before making their entry in Asia Cup starting on 31st August. After the Asia Cup India will play 3 ODIs against Australia and the big World Cup in India. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have played only 8-9 ODIs per year on average since the World Cup 2019 ended.

Team India made a roaring comeback against West Indies in the final ODI and thrashed the host by 200 runs. West Indies equaled the scoreline by 1-1 in the second ODI as they defeated India by 6 wickets. Shubman Gill (85), Ishan Kishan (77), Sanju Samson (51), and Hardik Pandya (70) all joined the party and India posted 351 runs on the board. Chasing a big total, West Indies rattled under pressure and were bowled out on 151 runs. Shardul Thakur picked up 4 while Mukesh Kumar picked up 3 wickets in the inning. Shubman Gill was adjudged Player of the Match while Ishan Kishan was awarded Player of the Series award, Kishan scored 184 runs in 3 innings.
