Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) defeated Gujarat Titans (GT) by five wickets in the 34th match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. After being asked to bat first, GT posted a decent total of 205/3 on the back of century by Sai Sudharsan (100).
However, GT’s total was not enough for victory as RCB batters chased it with ease. Opener Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal scored half-centuries to play a pivotal role in the chase.
Kohli was the top run-scorer for RCB as he slammed 81 runs off just 44 deliveries. Hitting four sixes and eight boundaries, he helped the team to get off to a brilliant start. The hosts chased down the target in just 18.5 overs, registering their fifth victory in IPL 2026.
After his century, Kohli has become the leading run-scorer in IPL 2026. He won the Player of the Match award for his brilliant batting show. Moreover, he has also broken a few records in IPL history.
To begin with, he has hit 800 fours, which is most by any batter in league. He also completed 300 sixes in the IPL. He has also won 20 POTM awards, one less than top-ranked Rohit Sharma.
