Virat Kohli smashed his seventh test hundred in the ongoing Perth test.
Virat Kohli notched up 30th century of his test career in the ongoing first test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 in Perth. Kohli’s record ton propelled India to a commanding position, setting a daunting 534-run target for the Aussies.
Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul laid the foundation of India’s dominating batting performance, stitching a record 201-run opening partnership. While Yashasvi starred with a fantastic 161, Kohli capitalized on the tired Australian bowling attack to guide India to a dominating position.
With his sensational hundred in the second innings, Virat Kohli has surpassed John Hobbs’ record of nine international centuries against Australia in their backyard. He also became the first player in cricket history to score 10 centuries against Australia in their backyard across all formats.

Following his knock, in a conversation with broadcaster Adam Gilchrist, Kohli reflected on his challenging journey and credited his wife Anushka Sharma for her unwavering support during his lean patch.
Kohli said, “Anushka has been there through thick and thin. She knows what I go through behind the scenes and in my mind during tough times. I’m not someone who plays just to stay in the team—I take pride in performing for my country.”
Before the series, many former cricketers like Sanjay Manjrekar and Ricky Ponting had made some comments about Virat Kohli, speaking of his bad run of form. However, Virat ensured that he responded to those ‘experts’ with his bat.
