Did Virat Kohli cut short Yuvraj Singh's career? Former Indian cricketer makes shocking claim

Yuvraj Singh played his last international match in June 2017.
Yuvraj Singh’s former India teammate Robin Uthappa has made a sensational revelation about how Virat Kohli refused to make exceptions in fitness tests when the all-rounder was trying to make a return to the Indian team after beating cancer.
Soon after helping India win the World Cup 2011, Yuvraj got treatment for cancer in London. He made his comeback to the ODI side in 2012 but was dropped after 2013 after a lean year.
While he continued to play in the IPL and was part of the T20 World Cups in 2014 and 2016, he was excluded from the ODI setup until his return in 2017. He slammed a century against England, played in the Champions Trophy, and then played a series in West Indies before being dropped, never to be recalled again.
Yuvraj Singh’s request for a two-point deduction on the fitness test benchmark was quashed, reveals Uthappa
In some scathing remarks against Virat Kohli, Uthappa made the revelation that the former skipper felt Yuvraj’s “lung capacity has diminished” after being diagnosed with cancer, and that he also didn’t made an exception when the 2011 World Cup hero asked for relaxation in the fitness test standard.
Speaking on ‘Lallantop,’ Uthappa said, “Take Yuvi Pa’s instance. The man beat cancer, and he is trying to come back into the international side. He is the man who won us a World Cup, won us two World Cups for that matter, along with the other players, but played an integral role in helping us win.
“Then for such a player, when you become captain, you say his lung capacity has diminished and you have been with him when you have seen him struggle. Nobody has told me this, I observe things.
“You have seen him struggle, then when you are captain, yes you have to maintain a level of standard, but there are always exceptions to the rule. Here is a man who deserves to be an exception because he is not just beaten and won you tournaments, but he has beaten cancer.
So when Yuvi requested for that two-point deduction, he didn’t get it. Then he did the test because he was outside the team and they weren’t taking him in. He passed the fitness test, came inside the team, had a lean tournament, took him out totally. Never entertained him after that,” Uthappa added.
Yuvraj Singh retired from international and IPL cricket in 2019.
