Rachin Ravindra scored 108 runs off 94 balls against Pakistan in Bengaluru.

Rachin Ravindra has been on a stellar run in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India. New Zealand all-rounder has been a find of the tournament for the Kiwis in international cricket. Rachin Ravindra delivered when he needed it the most and smashed his 3rd century of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. Ravindra played a blistering knock of 108 runs off 94 balls with 15 fours and a six. Ravindra has almost knocked Pakistan out of the tournament.

Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag, in a funny take on Ravindra’s innings, took a dig at the Pakistan cricket team’s performance. Sehwag remembered the former Indian batters and legendary names in cricket, Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid to celebrate Rachin Ravindra’s brutal knock against Pakistan. Pakistan needs to chase down 402 runs against New Zealand at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore to remain in the hunt.

Sehwag's dig at Pakistan

Virender Sehwag tweeted, “Sachin aur Rahul ko aadat rahi hai saalon se Pakistan ko takleef dene ki . Silsila zaari hai. What an innings by Rachin. Phainta lagaya hai (Sachin and Rahul had the habit of giving pain to Pakistan, and the trend continues. What an innings by Rachin. You have smashed it.)” Rachin Ravindra’s name has a special attachment with two of the most respected players of previous generations in international cricket.

Rachin’s father named Rachin by taking the first two letters of Rahul and the last 4 letters of Sachin. He is an ardent cricket fan and kept supporting Ravindra throughout his World Cup campaign as well. Virender Sehwag used similar emotions to take a dig at the Pakistan cricket team, who are already struggling in their World Cup campaign. New Zealand have posted their highest-ever World Cup total to challenge Pakistan.

Rachin Ravindra and captain Kane Williamson were brilliant with the bat early in the innings and added 180 runs for the second wicket. Returning after an injury, Kane Williamson (95) played a magnificent knock but missed out on his century. Devon Conway (35) had a start but once again failed to convert it into a big score. Glenn Phillips (41) and Mark Chapman took the Blackcaps score above 400 with their cameos.
