David Warner-led Delhi Capitals crushed RCB by 7 wickets in the return-fixture.

Delhi Capitals had convincingly beaten Royal Challengers Bangalore by 7 wickets. Delhi Capitals chased down 183 runs in just 17 overs. Phil Salt played a magnificent match-winning knock of 87 runs in 45 balls. He smashed 8 fours and 6 sixes in his innings. Rilee Rossouw also played a crucial supporting role with 35 runs in 22 balls. RCB had a brilliant batting performance with Virat Kohli (55) and young Mahipal Lomror (54) scoring half-centuries to put 182 runs on the board. RCB bowlers disappointed their fans. Delhi had a flying start with David Warner (22) and Phil Salt adding 60 runs in 5 overs.

Faf credits DC batters

Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Faf du Plessis felt that there was dew that made a big difference between the two teams. He said, “I thought we were very close to par. We thought 185 is a good score. But there was a little bit of dew in the second half but we also have to give credit to the batters”. Delhi scored 70 runs in the power play, losing only their captain David Warner. After that start DC didn’t look back and Salt took charge of the inning with his aggressive approach.

'We wanted to target Siraj'

Delhi Capitals captain David Warner was thrilled with a stunning win against Royal Challengers Bangalore. He said, “It was an absolutely amazing performance, I thought that 180 was possible”. David Warner also revealed that it was Delhi Capitals plan to go hard on Mohammed Siraj. He said, “We said from the outset that we wanted to try and target Mohammed Siraj. That was our intention”. Mohammed Siraj conceded 28 runs in 2 overs in the game.

Phil Salt won POTM

Captain Warner’s opening partner Phil Salt was awarded Player of the Match. Salt’s onslaught put RCB on the back foot from the start. Salt was happy about his performance and said, “We spoke about being positive and taking them on. We saw how good they were in Bangalore… I don’t take my foot off the pedal too often, something that’s the real strength of mine”
