Waqar Younis snubs Pakistan, backs India to win ICC Cricket World Cup 2023

Legendary Pakistan cricketer Waqar Younis has picked his favourites to win the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.
The start of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 is just a few days away. The first match of the tournament will have a contest between England and New Zealand on October 5 in Ahmedabad. The best ten teams will be competing in the marquee event in India, which will have a total of 48 games. Meanwhile, all participating teams will be playing two warmup games each, starting on September 29.
However, all ten teams are looking pretty good and well suited for the pitches in India. It is pretty hard to choose a clear favorite. But India have a great chance, and as hosts, they have an incredible record at home. Teams like England, Australia, South Africa, and Pakistan also have some match-winners on their side.
Ex-PAK Legend Waqar Younis picks India to win the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023
With not much time left for the World Cup 2023 to start, the predictions have begun. A number of former players and cricket analysts have revealed their choices for the teams that are favorites to win the world. Amid those, former Pakistani legend Waqar Younis has made a surprising pick. In a recent interview, Waqar boldly picked India to win the mega event and said that it will be hard for other teams to match the firepower of India.
Waqar said, “If we only talk about ticking the boxes, then we will see no other team can match India; even Pakistan or any other team will not match India right now, but also they have a strong bench strength. So, if by any chance, they face any injuries, the players who are sitting at the bench can’t be ignored due to their fantastic current form"
The former Pakistani legend also stated that the current Pakistani team is weaker than India. However, he also said that when it comes to playing in Ahmedabad in front of a big crowd, the pressure will be equal on both sides. The high-voltage clash between India and Pakistan is scheduled to be played on October 14 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
