Wasim Jaffer backs Kuldeep Yadav to play the fifth test against England.

Former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer has revealed his playing XI for the fifth test of the five-match series against the England Cricket Team. The match between the two teams will begin on 31st July at The Oval in London.

The test series between England and India has come to a conclusion, and it’s time for the one showdown. It will be a crucial game for both teams, as the series is on the line, and for India, it’s a must-win game, given their 2-1 deficit in the series.

India are likely to make a few changes in their XI for the last game. They had a few flaws in the previous test, which ended in a draw. But with the upcoming game being a must-win, they are likely to leave no stone unturned in picking their team.

As per Wasim Jaffer, the openers will continue retaining their place. Both Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul have done an incredible job and would be keen to do the same in the last match as well. At three, he backed Sai Sudharsan, who registered a fifty and a duck in the Manchester test.

At four, Jaffer picked Shubman Gill, and there’s no brainer that he will bat in the same position. The Indian captain has been in red-hot form and has piled up truckloads of runs. He will be key for his team in the last game of the series.

Wasim Jaffer feels that India might make a few changes in the lower order. According to him, Dhruv Jurel will replace injured Rishabh Pant in the XI. He kept wickets in place of Pant in the last two games after the left-hander faced injuries at Lord’s and Manchester.

Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar have retained their place in Wasim Jaffer’s XI and rightly so after their heroics with the bat that helped India save the Manchester test. However, the former cricketer backed Kuldeep Yadav to play the last game of the series.

He feels that wrist spinner might replace Shardul Thakur, who has struggled to get going with the bat and ball. Although he played a vital hand in the last game, he was extremely torrid with the ball. On the other hand, the team management has faced a lot of criticism for not playing Kuldeep in the last four games.

According to Wasim Jaffer, Arshdeep Singh will make his debut at the Oval, replacing Anshul Kamboj. There will be no Jasprit Bumrah as the left-arm pacer will be accompanied by Akash Deep and Mohammed Siraj.
