IND vs PAK match set to have a reserve day on 11th September for their Asia Cup 2023 Super 4 encounter.

The big heavyweight fight in the Asia Cup 2023 Super Four stage between India and Pakistan is set to get the reserve day due to the prevailing rain situation in the Sri Lankan capital city of Colombo next week. The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has decided to keep a reserve day for the India vs Pakistan encounter on Sunday. This will be the only game having an unfair extra advantage of reserve day in the Super 4 over the other two teams Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. The former Indian opener, Wasim Jaffer, has brutally trolled ACC and other participating teams for this biased decision-making towards a big business game and leaving out the other two teams as it is.

Wasim Jaffer trolls ACC

Former Indian opener Wasim Jaffer has put out a tweet of a movie clip from a famous Bollywood movie to take on ACC’s decision-making. Jaffer posted a video from the famous Bollywood movie 'Hum Sath Sath hain’ where the movie characters were offered sweets but one or two members failed to get them. Jaffer has highlighted a similar situation as there is rain prediction in every single game scheduled to be played at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, starting on Saturday between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

Twitter (X) users also highlighted a similar feeling in Wasim Jaffer’s meme and slammed the ACC for keeping the reserve day for just one game. On reserve day itself, the weather forecast remains the same, and there 90% chance of rain on Monday. India played their opening game against Pakistan at Pallekele Stadium in Kandy but due to heavy showers, the second innings was a complete washout. India’s second game against Nepal was also curtailed due to rain. India batted for only 23 overs in the second innings.

Colombo’s R Premadasa Stadium will be hosting the rest of the matches in the Asia Cup 2023 including the Final on 17 November. Tournament’s Super 4 round is set to resume on 9th September when Sri Lanka will take on Bangladesh. Sri Lanka are going strong in this format and they are on the verge of becoming the second most successful team in terms of consecutive wins in ODI cricket. They need only one win to get their 13th consecutive ODI win.
