Arshdeep Singh's first wicket for Kent in the county championship was that of Surrey's Ben Foakes.

Arshdeep Singh impressed one and all on his English county cricket debut for Kent as he bowled with fire and snatched a couple of wickets as well. He joined the Kent county cricket club on the advice of Indian coach Rahul Dravid, who played for the club in county cricket during his time.

Arshdeep Singh initially attracted attention with his outstanding bowling performance in his county debut against Surrey. He concluded the first innings with 2/43, including the critical dismissal of Ben Foakes, an important member of the England team.

Arshdeep Singh showed off his ability to make the ball talk with a snorter delivery that led to Foakes' dismissal.

However, in the second innings, he castled a threatening Jamie Smith, earning him one of his best wickets of the game thus far.

On Day 3 of the contest, Smith put on an astonishing exhibition of power-hitting by smashing a century off just 70 deliveries while chasing a massive score of 501. Smith was batting brilliantly and put the Kent side under immense pressure with his partnership with Dom Sibley.

When Arshdeep Singh bowled from behind the wicket and castled the batter's defence with a peach of a delivery, Smith was batting at 114.

Arshdeep signed a contract with Kent to participate in five county championship games, and he hopes to take advantage of the chance to improve as a cricket player. Fans eagerly anticipate more brilliant performances from the talented left-arm pacer, whose excellent debut performances have already demonstrated his ability.

Talking about his decision to join Kent, Arshdeep credited Rahul Dravid for influencing him.

"Why Kent? A lot of this goes to Rahul Dravid, he told me about the history of this club and that he represented this club as well. I want to play because of that as well, he has inspired a lot of youngsters back home. This inspired me to join Kent as well," he told Kent's website before the game.

"Feeling happy and excited to be here, to be a part of such a great franchise. It is a great county with a rich history as I have been told by people back home. It feels like home. It is just colder than home,” he added.
