Cheteshwar Pujara managed to score 14 before being castled by Cameron Green in the ICC WTC final.

The Indian batters have struggled to find their feet against Australia at The Oval in the World Test Championship Final. India have lost three top-order wickets inside the first 15 overs. Shubman Gill and Cheteshwar Pujara have lost their wickets due to poor application against Australia’s pace attack. Pujara got out on just 14 against Cameron Green. Gill and Pujara both had identical dismissals. Australian pacers are getting help from the wicket and they are relentlessly bowling in tighter lines and length. Pujara was tackling the pace nicely with his focused approach but had poor judgement around his off-stump against Cameron Green.

Green dismissed Pujara in a similar fashion like Boland got Gill

Cheteshwar Pujara usually does not cover his off stump much and stands around the middle and leg stump stance. Cameron Green bowled one around off stump on a length delivery which seemed to hit the off stump of Pujara. Right-hand batter Pujara looked unaware of his off stump and the ball went crashing his stumps. Just before the tea break, Shubman Gill also lost his wicket in an almost identical fashion against Scott Boland. Indian batters have failed to put up a fight against the Australian pace attack so far. Pujara and Gill’s wickets have put India under pressure.

Cheteshwar Pujara played in the county championship before entering the World Test Championship Final against Australia. He had a great run of form in county cricket smashing 3 centuries in 8 innings. Before his wicket, Pujara batted with a positive attitude initially but after Gill’s wicket, he went back a little to his usual batting style. Australia scored 469 runs in the first inning with Travis Head and Steve Smith’s magnificent centuries and 285 runs marathon partnership. India needs one big partnership to bounce back from the current situation.
