Watch: David Miller's juggling catch to dismiss Rahmat Shah in Ahmedabad

David Miller took a great catch to dismiss Afghanistan batsman Rahmat Shah in Ahmedabad.
South Africans are making things tough for Afghanistan in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. Afghanistan batters have struggled to tackle the pace of South African bowlers at Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad. The Proteas made Afghanistan struggle with 5 wickets down for just 112 runs. Gerald Coetzee and Keshav Maharaj picked up 4 wickets in between them to put Afghanistan in trouble in their final league game.
Rahmat Shah (26) and Ikram AliKhil looked settled after early blows and they had a decent partnership for 4th wicket between them. But David Miller’s juggling skills proved otherwise for the Afghans. Afghanistan lost their 4th wicket right when they were approaching 100 runs at the half-way mark in 25 overs. Afghanistan’s top-order had a few decent starts in the innings but some soft dismissals and a few great efforts like David Miller took it away from them.
David Miller’s Juggle to dismiss Rahmat Shah
Lungi Ngidi was troubling the batters with his pace despite being in discomfort due to a problem with his ankle. Afghan number 3 Rahmat Shah looked to go aggressive against the pacer after facing a few balls in his second spell and went for a lusty drive. He couldn’t control it properly and the ball flew towards the backward point where David Miller was placed. Miller was agile enough to grab the ball but it popped up from his hand.
Watch the video here:
David Miller had to juggle 4-5 times before holding on to a great diving catch. It looked like a regulation catch but Miller lost his balance a bit after taking it into the first attempt. The ball went up as Miller fell awkwardly but he was alert enough to spot the ball and balance out himself properly to take a good catch. Rahmat Shah was dismissed after facing 46 balls. He scored 26 runs scoring two fours in his innings.
Azmatullah Omarzai looks to be in great touch and tackling the South African bowlers confidently. Afghanistan’s campaign looks almost to end as they might not be able to achieve the required margin against South Africa to go over New Zealand’s net run rate. They must be feeling disappointed after losing against Australia from a winning position at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. South Africa have secured their clash in the semi-finals against Australia.
