Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis added 172 runs for the opening wicket partnership against SRH.
Royal Challengers Bangalore’s star attraction Virat Kohli played a magnificent innings against Sunrisers Hyderabad. He scored his 6th IPL ton in his career. He also equaled Chris Gayle’s record of smashing most number of IPL centuries. Gayle has scored 6 hundreds in 141 innings in his IPL career. Kohli scored a hundred after 4 years in the IPL. His 100 runs knock was also crucial in keeping RCB’s hopes alive for the next round. He along with his captain Faf du Plessis added 172 runs for the opening wicket in a 187-run chase against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Hyderabad. Virat was in full flow, he was entertaining the crowd as well as his captain who was standing at non-striker's end.
Faf in awe of Virat's 103 meter long hit
RCB opener Virat in the 9th over smashed a towering 103-meter-long six to young pace bowler from Andhra Pradesh, K Nitish Kumar Reddy. Virat Kohli pulled one over deep mid-wicket to get a 'wow' reaction from his skipper Faf. In the first ball of his second over, Nitish missed his length and delivered a length ball that was asking for a big shot. Virat, taking the opportunity, sent it back among the crowd for a six. Kohli’s brutal strike also made Faf du Plessis surprised who just went 'wow' after the master’s class shot. In the same over Mayank Dagar took a screamer but later the umpires called that delivery a no-ball. A marginal call played a crucial role in RCB’s win against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Royal Challengers Bangalore will play their next game against Gujarat Titans. A lot will depend on the Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings clash on Friday. Mumbai Indians, Rajasthan Royals, and Royal Challengers Bangalore are in the race for one remaining place in the points table. All the teams are now left with only one game. RCB’s win against Hyderabad made the race more interesting. Royal Challengers Bangalore have defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 8 wickets. They did wanted to finish the game early to better their NRR, but Virat and Faf’s wicket created a little problem in RCB’s plan.
