Shadab Khan won Man of the Match for his crucial innings in 2nd ODI vs Afghanistan.

The second ODI game between Pakistan and Afghanistan ended with a nail-biting finish. In the end, it was Naseem Shah who led his team to a remarkable victory to win the series 2-0. But in the last few moments of the match, it swung like a pendulum and shifted both ways. However, Pakistan held their nerve and registered their biggest win with a margin of one wicket.

But the platform was set by Shadab Khan, who played a valuable innings of 48 off 35 balls, with three fours and one six, to take the game deep. In fact, he turned the match in Pakistan’s favor. But his innings didn’t end the way he would have liked. On the very first ball of the last over, when Pakistan needed 11 off six balls, he was run out by Fazalhaq Farooqi at the bowler’s end.

The game went down to the wire, and Pakistan needed 27 off the last over. But Shadab smashed Abdul Rahman for 16 runs in the 49th over to bring the equation down to 11 off 6. Farooqi came out to bowl the last over with Naseem Shah on strike. On the very first ball, he ran out Shadab as he was backing too far up. The reply also showed that Shadab Khan was moved out of the crease before the bowler was in his bowling stride.

It resulted in Shadab Khan’s dismissal, which brought Afghanistan back into the game. But despite that, Pakistan pulled off the run chase with one wicket in hand. Naseem hit two boundaries, including a four off an edge to third man, which resulted in Pakistan’s one-wicket win with one ball to spare.

They were 302/9, and Naseem was unbeaten on 5-ball 10. Shadab was named Man of the Match for his crucial innings. Earlier in the game, Afghanistan won the toss and decided to bat first. Both openers added a record 227 for the first wicket. Rahmanullah Gurbaz smashed his fifth ODI ton and made 151 runs with 14 fours and three sixes, while Ibrahim Zadran made 80 runs. Afghanistan reached a total of 300/5. For Pakistan, Imam-ul-Haq (91) and Babar Azam (53) made half-centuries.
