Haris Rauf took 2 wickets in his quota of 10 overs against South Africa in a thrilling encounter in Chennai.

The ongoing Pakistan Vs. South Africa ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 match in Chennai on October 27 saw some very exciting cricket from both sides.

Pakistan captain Babar Azam won the toss and chose to bat first. He and Saud Shakeel scored half-centuries as Pakistan scored 270 runs. Shadab Khan made 43, while Mohammad Nawaz also contributed 24 runs to the final Pakistan total.

For South Africa, Tabraiz Shamsi took 4/60 and Marco Jansen took three wickets.

In response, South Africa lost Quinton de Kock for 24 and Temba Bavuma got out for 28 runs. Rassie van der Dussen anchored one end and played cautiously. Rassie van der Dussen was given LBW on a glitchy DRS decision by TV umpire. He was dismissed by Usama Mir, who came in Pakistan XI as a concussion substitute for Shadab Khan.

Pakistan regularly took wickets as Henrich Klaasen (12), David Miller (29) and Marco Jansen (20) got starts, but couldn’t continue on. Aiden Markram anchored one end and was taking South Africa near the total one run at a time. But he got out to Usama Mir for 91 runs with 7 fours and 3 sixes to his name.

Haris Rauf gets Lungi Ngidi out by taking a terrific caught and bowled

Haris Rauf had a good match in which he picked 2 wickets for 62 runs in his 10 overs. He got an idea on how to bowl on this surface and kept banging it short.

Meanwhile, his best moment came in the 46th over, when he took an excellent caught and bowled to get rid of Lungi Ngidi. Ngidi couldn’t negotiate with the good length ball at 147 kph and haphazardly lobbed it towards the bowler.

Rauf had to run a couple of steps and dived to catch the ball just before it touched the ground.
