Indian wicket-keeper batsman Ishan Kishan scored his maiden fifty in test cricket.

During Day 4 of the ongoing second Test at Queen's Park Oval in Port of Spain, Ishan Kishan achieved a remarkable feat by scoring his very first Test fifty in just 33 balls in the second innings. After India declared their second innings at 181/2, they set a challenging target of 365 runs for West Indies to chase.

In the previous match, Kishan had made his Test debut but could only manage to score 1* run before India declared their innings. However, in the first innings of the current Test, he scored 25 runs. In the second innings, he was promoted up the batting order to accelerate the scoring, and he did so with brilliance.

Kishan displayed his aggressive style of play by smashing fours and sixes. His spectacular achievement came when he reached his maiden half-century with an extraordinary one-handed six, which brought back memories of his former teammate, Rishabh Pant, with whom he was the opening partner for India in the 2016 U-19 World Cup.

In a video capturing his celebration after reaching 50 runs, viewers noticed "RP17" on Kishan's bat, confirming that he was using Rishabh Pant's bat while batting in this Test match. With Pant being unavailable due to multiple injury, it appears that Kishan stepped into his shoes and carried on the aggressive style both players are known for.
