India's tour of West Indies 2023
Watch: Kyle Mayers' bullseye throw to send back Suryakumar Yadav in 2nd T20I

Suryakumar Yadav scored only 1 run in the 3 deliveries he faced before getting run-out.
Once again India’s top-order failed to perform against West Indies in the second T20I at Providence Stadium in Guyana. West Indies were upbeat and confident after the first T20I win and troubled Indian batters with pace and spin. Kyle Mayers gripped the game in his hand with a brutal throw to dismiss Suryakumar Yadav who came in to bat at number 3.
Kyle Mayers’ throw gave West Indies two early breakthroughs as Shubman Gill went back in the dressing room just 4 balls earlier. Indian batters struggled against Akeal Hosein’s spin in the powerplay.
Right after Gill’s wicket, Suryakuamar walked in to bat at 3. Kyle Mayers one bullseye throw sent Suryakumar Yadav back into the dressing room. Ishan Kishan played a nudge on the leg side and called for a single, Mayers fielding at mid-wicket came running forward to control the ball and aimed towards the stump. Mayers’ throw hit the bullseye.

Suryakumar Yadav could not gather the pace to complete his run and fell short of the crease. This wicket put Indians on the back foot and allowed West Indies to control the game. Suryakumar Yadav departed after facing just 3 balls, he could only score one run in his short stay at the crease.
In both the T20Is, Indian batters couldn’t perform. Shubman Gill played a rash shot to give West Indies their first breakthrough. One poor call from Ishan Kishan right after his wicket made India sit back and wait for the opportunity rather than take control of the situation.
Tilak Varma contributed massively to India’s total with his half-century. Tilak smashed his maiden T20I half-century and was out on 51 runs. India finished their innings on 152 runs and gave 153 runs target to West Indies. Arshdeep Singh and Ravi Bishnoi’s 5 ball stand made India touch the 150 runs mark.
