Heinrich Klaasen smashed 6th fastest World Cup hundred off 61 balls against England.

It has been a record-breaking evening at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. England are taking on South Africa in match No. 20 of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. England won the toss and decided to bowl first. But that decision has totally backfired on them. They have conceded their biggest ODI total in the history of the game. South Africa posted a massive total of 399/7 in the first innings.

It was largely because of the brilliant hundred from Heinrich Klaasen, who smashed the 6th fastest century in the history of the ODI World Cup off just 61 balls and added 151 runs with Marco Jansen for the 6th wicket to take his team to a record score. Klaasen made 109 off 67 balls, including 12 fours and four sixes.

Watch: Mark Wood bowls an unplayable yorker to Heinrich Klaasen

Heinrich Klaasen scored the brilliant hundred, but he was exhausted completely and was hit a few times. Mark Wood, who is one of the fastest bowlers in this competition, bowled a toe-crushing yorker to Klaasen, which almost had him, but it struck his leg, and the batter fell over. It was a perfect yorker, and not many batters would have played it.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) also shared the video of that unplayable yorker on their Instagram handle. However, it wasn't a great day for Wood. He was too expensive and leaked at an economy rate of 10.90. Wood gave away 76 runs in seven overs. It was the same picture for every English bowler.

Reece Topley took three wickets but gave away 88 runs in 8.5 overs. Gus Atkinson and Adil Rashid took two wickets each but were also expensive. It was a day to forget for England with the ball, and now the batters have a big job to do. If any team can chase this total down, it have to be England alone, with the firepower they have. Marco Jansen also played a great cameo of 75 not out from 42 balls for South Africa.
